Matka King is an eight-episode Prime Video series set in 1960s-70s Mumbai, loosely inspired by Ratan Khatri's rise as the matka gambling kingpin. It follows cotton trader Brij Bhatti (Vijay Varma), who teams with a disgraced soldier and widow to launch the matka game, transforming elite betting into a mass parallel economy amid post-Partition disillusionment.
